The Sisterhood of Unlikely Friends is a Heart-Warming Story

Sara Brunsvold in the house! Anytime this author releases a new story reality takes a backseat for a couple of days. I read The Sisterhood of Unlikely Friendship in two days. Every spare second I had I was reaching for this book.

If you love contemporary women's fiction that is small town, filled with hope, multi-generational female friendships, unwavering faith and community you need to add this book to the top of your TBR pile. In fact, ALL of this author's books should be at the top of your reading list.

Forty-two-year-old Jessica "Jess" Becker is turning a new chapter in her life determined to get it right. Relatively, new in her faith she moves to Kansas City and soon finds herself opening her heart and home to unexpected friends Reva, Austie and Kyla.

One aspect I loved about this story was how the author built the Christian community of characters who helped each other. Who sat in the ugly moments of life and purposely not perfectly strove to follow God's Word. It inspired me to want to more faithfully walk alongside the people in my life and community through life's challenges.

I'd rate The Sisterhood of Unlikely Friendships a solid 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. The ending was a little rushed and I wanted more. Isn't this the mark of a good story when you aren't ready to say goodbye to the characters?

Sara writes standalone novels and If I was to rank her books, they'd be in this order: The Extraordinary Deaths of Mrs. Kip, The Atlas of Untold Stories, The Sisterhood of Unlikely Friendships, and The Divine Proverb of Streusel. How would you rank Sara's books? Which is your favorite?
